Boot Camp and Parallels: Switching to Mac Delight #1

I have Windows XP installed on a Boot Camp partition which I can boot into and use Windows as I normally would. Then, while booted into OS10 I have Parallels installed and I use that same partition as my virtual machine. So all my data, applications, fonts etc are exactly the same as though I was booted into Windows proper. I am only using Windows for Flash at this point and its way faster like this than the real Mac version of Flash. Its good stuff and the main reason I am switching to Mac.

    Hi – Thanks for documenting your path of switching! I’m trying to make the decision right now of whether to swtich from windows to mac.

    Your post above mentioned that flash worked much faster on windows than the native mac version, did I read that right?

    Overall, now that you’ve switched, how do you feel about the decision? Specifically are you able to be as productive on OSX than Windows? How much are you still using windows? Did you find that finding software that worked on OSX was an issue?

    I just found out that Gmail was not downloading my pop mail from Dreamhost so I just saw this.

    Flash CS3 is fantastic and solves all the speed issues I was having.

    I Never thought I would say it, but I have been assimilated into the Apple world, I even just bought an Apple TV. There are times with Mac OS10 where I just want to scream, and get to my desktop, or just go full screen with an app and can’t without some work, and the finder still sucks compared to Explorer. But I am very happy with it.

    I am typing this from my desktop machine which is running Vista and hosts all of my media, that I serve to my home theatre with an Apple TV. :) My next home machine will be a Mac, either a Mini, iMac, or if I can afford it a Mac Pro/
